"Rivers of Blood"
Carried out by the government of Young Turks "Ottoman Empire" against its Armenian population during and just after world war I, taking the advantage of the caos situation world wide, They decided a genocide against Armenians.
The decision was made to exterminate the Armenian population in the Ottoman Empire and it was occurred in a systematic fashion.
First the Armenians in the army were disarmed, placed into labor battalions, and then killed.
Then the Armenian political and intellectual leaders were rounded up on April 24, 1915 and then killed.
Finnally, the remaining Armenians were called from their homes, told they would be relocated, and then marched off to concentration camps in the desert where they would starve and thirst in to death in the burning sun.
The death roll amounts to 1,500.000 people. The deportation process was characterised by the use of massacres involving forced marches under conditions designed to lead to the death of deportees.
